What is the Secret Place of God?

The secret place of God is both a mystical and protective environment. It’s a space of darkness filled with light, where you are completely shielded under His wings. Imagine being like Job, before the adversary could touch him or his possessions. In this secret place, you are hidden and untouchable by the enemy, much like Jesus—unbothered by the world around you.
You may wonder: “Is it really that simple?” Yes, if you understand that in the secret place, you are under God's divine protection, with a hedge of protection that surrounds you—just like Job in Job 1:10-11.


The Power of Divine Protection in the Secret Place

When you dwell in the secret place, the enemy cannot touch you. In Psalm 91, the promises of God’s protection are crystal clear:
Psalm 91:4: "He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust."
Psalm 91:7: "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."
In this space, God’s shadow becomes your safety, and you are guaranteed deliverance, no matter the circumstances—whether through protection or, in some cases, even deliverance through death. Understanding the concept of deliverance through death is something I’ll dive into in a future video, but for now, take comfort in knowing that God will deliver you no matter what.


How to Enter the Secret Place: Set Your Love Upon God

In Psalm 91:14, God gives the key to entering His secret place: set your love upon Him. This isn’t about emotional feelings but about choosing to love God with your actions—prioritizing Him over everything else. Whatever you love on earth, replace it with a love for God. Your love for your family, your job, or your hobbies should not surpass the love for God’s presence.
As Psalm 91:14 says, “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him…” By choosing God and obeying His will, you activate His promises of protection, deliverance, and long life.


Staying in the Secret Place: How to Abide in God’s Presence

Once you enter the secret place, the next question is: How do you stay there? Psalm 15 gives us clear instructions on how to maintain your position in God’s shadow. To remain in God’s tabernacle, you must:
Walk uprightly and work righteousness.
Speak truth in your heart.
Avoid gossip and backbiting.
Honor those who fear God.
Do not engage in corruption or usury.
By doing these things, you will remain anchored in God’s secret place, His holy hill.
